Lifeguard Review (Re-Certification)

This 10 hour course is designed to cover all necessary ARC curriculum items for the purpose of renewing the initial Lifeguard certification. All materials covered are taught with the expectation that lifeguards have a basic understanding of the skills being covered. In some cases, it is necessary for candidates to re-take the entire lifeguard course. 

Specific skills that are reviewed include the following:





  • Pre-Course skills (300yard swim, brick tow, treading water for 2 minutes)


  • The Professional Lifeguard


  • Facility Safety


  • Entries, Rescues, Approaches


  • Multiple Victim Rescue


  • Drowning Process


  • Effective Surveillance & Patron Safety


  • Zone Coverage


  • Victim Recognition


  • Ask Drills 


  • Primary Assessment


  • Victim Ventilation


  • CPR/AED


  • First Aid


  • Head, Neck, & Back injuries


  • Final In-Water Skill Scenarios


  • Final Written Exams
