BPRD Lifeguard Staff Skills Practice Sessions

Need to complete your skill cards? Come to our lifeguard skill practice sessions. During each session participants will be able to practice their skills, review our EAP, practice emergency communication, and review all job-related topics. Your questions will be answered. Always come prepared to swim and perform skills. Questions? See a head/lead lifeguard. Staff must attend 4 sessions within the school year.

  • 10/27/2019: Passive Front and Rear w/ Extrications, Cold-related Emergencies


  • 11/24/2019: First Aid: Elderly Patron Fall, Primary and Secondary Assessment


  • 12/29/2019: Active Rescue with Blocks and Escapes


  • 1/26/2020: Conscious Choking. CPR with AED and BVM, EAP: Calling 911


  • 2/23/2020: First Aid: Controlling Bleeding, Primary and Secondary Assessment


  • 3/29/2020: Spinal Injury in Deep Water, Cold-related Emergencies


  • 4/26/2020: Misc. in-water skills


  • 5/31/2020: Misc. on-land skills
