Bristol resident Amaris Estrada selected as Assistant to the Superintendent

Bristol, CT – [February 15, 2024] – The City of Bristol Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services (BPRYCS) is pleased to announce the selection of Bristol resident Amaris Estrada to assume the role of Assistant to the Superintendent. The Assistant to the Superintendent oversees a variety of administrative functions for the department including payroll, payables/receivables, grant and budgetary assistance, program registration and customer service. The Assistant to the Superintendent provides administrative support to the Superintendent and division supervisors, and serves as staff liaison to the Board of Park Commissioners, Youth Commission and City Arts and Culture Commission.

Amaris
Amaris comes to the department with a variety of administrative experience most recently with Thomaston Savings Bank and Encore Fire Protection. In these roles she processed financial transactions, managed accounts, developed clerical documents, and communicated regularly with the public to resolve problems and create positive customer experiences. Amaris has worked as a paraeducator in the Bristol Public School System and has taken formal college courses in social work which aligns with the mission of BPRYCS.

Superintendent Dr. Josh Medeiros stated, “Amaris comes to us with a significant amount of relevant experience for this role, but what stood out the most was her positive, out-going and infectious personality. I believe she will fit in perfect with our professional team and both board members and the public are going to love her.”

Amaris begins her service to the department on Monday February 26, 2024 with a starting hourly rate of $28.03.
