Trick or "treat yourself" to an evening filled with a little fright and fun at the Rockwell Park Amphitheater. We will be hosting our Halloween Spooktacular event Saturday, October 23 starting at 5:00 pm. The event is free and includes Trunk or Treating, games, contests, and more!
Trunk or Treat
A “Trunk-or-Treat” is a Halloween event where people gather and park their cars in a large parking lot. They open their trunks, or the backs of their vehicles, and decorate them. Then they pass out candy from their trunks. The event provides a safe family environment to all trick-or-treaters!
There are two ways you can participate:
- "Trunkers": Decorate your trunk & pass out goodies
- "Treaters": Dress up in your Halloween costume and visit trunks as you collect goodies
If you're interested in participating as a Trunk-or Treat Car please complete the form below and return it to Erica Benoit, Community Engagement Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or by mailing/dropping it off to 111 N. Main St., City Hall - 2nd Floor, Bristol, CT 06010
If you're not able to participate but would like to donate candy to the Trunk or Treat festivities, Candy Drive collection boxes will be made available at the BPRYCS main office at City Hall, DMAC, and the Youth and Community Services Building.
For the first time, BPRYCS will be hosting a Scarecrow competition! We encourage residents, local businesses, organizations, and community groups to put their scarecrow making abilities to the test. The idea is simple: come up with a concept for a scarecrow, build it, and put it out for all of Bristol to enjoy! Scarecrows will be put up for display on Saturday, October 23rd, and can remain up following the spooktacular for fellow residents to enjoy through October 31st.
Everyone will be invited to walk around the amphitheater to find their favorite scarecrows in five categories:
- Kid's Choice
- Best Bristol Theme
- Best Use of Business Theme
- Best Use of Recycled Materials
- Most Humorous
Dress up in your most creative, spookiest, wackiest costume and enter the Halloween Costume Contest! Prizes will be given away for the following categories:
- Spookiest Costume - Scary, creepy costumes
- Best Look a Like - Portrays a celebrity or fictional character
- Best Group Costumes - Two or more members or a family, friend group, or local organizations portraying a theme
- Most Creative - Calling all "DIY-ers", make-up extraordinaires, and witty pun-masters; how creative can you be?
- Best Overall
Best Trunk or Treat Car Costume
Throughout the evening participants will be able to vote on "Best CAR Costume"! So, slap a cape on that sedan, a pair of fangs on your trunk, or some whiskers on that mini-van and make sure to register your vehicle for Trunk or Treat!
You don't want to miss this fang-tastic event!
