Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together Reintroduces Themselves

Bristol Eliminating Substance Use Together (BEST) announced a major brand refresh to reflect the Drug-Free Community Coalition’s all-encompassing commitment to reducing substance abuse in Bristol.
The rebranding was spearheaded by BEST Coalition Co-Chair and Bristol’s department of Parks, Recreation, Youth & Community Services, Drug Free Communities Grant Project Coordinator, Jenelle Howard. Howard expressed her excitement about the rebranding, stating “We are excited to be taking BEST to another level with the help of our coalition and the community”.

Fueled by the recent re-funding of the $125,000 Drug Free Communities Grant, awarded to BEST in October of 2020 by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), BEST has embraced the evolution of the coalition as their fight against drug use has remained constant. The result is an overhaul on the coalition’s image, branding, and positioning in the community.

Included in the re-branding is the launch and publication of a new logo, website overhaul, and review of policies and procedures. By eliminating the logo’s harsh yellow and previously used purple shade, BEST is seen as a professional and approachable coalition to all community members.
Over the past 25 years, BEST has grown to represent 12 community sectors comprised of Bristol parents, teachers, youth, police, health care providers, faith communities, businesses, civic leaders, and more. This growth reflects the increasing awareness and city-wide recognition for the need to prevent substance abuse by youth and those who impact their development.
Howard finished by noting “the rebranding serves as a stepping stone in the continued battle toward the BEST vision; to develop a culture of awareness and sustained action that will promote positive youth development and a healthier community.

BEST is always looking for new members to join the coalition. The BEST coalition meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:45pm (currently meeting virtually). The BEST Youth Coalition meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 5:30-7pm (currently meeting virtually).
